Foundation Moves Forward with New Plans for Private Sector Skills Development

Dhaka: The Third Committee Meeting of the Bangladesh Private Sector Skills Development Foundation (BPSSD Foundation) was held in Dhaka following the Foundation’s approval from the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), marking an important milestone in the organization’s institutional journey.

The meeting was led by Dr. Md. Faridul Islam, Former Secretary, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who provided strategic guidance on the Foundation’s future activities and organizational development.

The meeting focused primarily on reviewing the progress achieved following the RJSC approval and identifying the next steps required to formally expand and implement the Foundation’s activities.

Committee members discussed a range of issues including the Foundation’s organizational structure, documentation, website and digital platform development, committee activities, membership expansion and upcoming programmes.

Particular emphasis was placed on moving forward with a structured action plan following the Foundation’s formal registration. Members discussed how the organization can establish an effective platform for bringing together private skills development institutes, training providers, trainers, assessors, industry stakeholders and other organizations working in the skills development sector.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation among private sector skills institutions and creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, capacity building, industry linkage, quality improvement and collaborative skills development.

With the Foundation now having received its RJSC approval, the committee discussed the transition from its initial organizational formation to the implementation of its planned programmes and initiatives. The members emphasized the need for coordinated action, professional management and effective engagement with relevant stakeholders.

Under the leadership of Dr. Md. Faridul Islam, Former Secretary, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Foundation aims to develop a strong and sustainable platform representing the interests and contributions of private sector skills development organizations in Bangladesh.

The meeting also reviewed upcoming priorities, including strengthening institutional documentation, launching and developing the official website, expanding the membership network, forming specialized committees and initiating collaborative programmes with skills development institutions and industry partners.

The committee members expressed their commitment to taking the Foundation forward with a clear vision for the development of Bangladesh’s private sector skills ecosystem.

The Third Committee Meeting therefore marked a significant transition for the Bangladesh Private Sector Skills Development Foundation—from organizational establishment following RJSC approval toward the implementation of its broader programmes and initiatives for the advancement of skills development in Bangladesh.
