Dhaka: Mr. S.I. Mozumder, Chairman of Western Technical Training Institute and Vice President of the Bangladesh Private Sector Skills Development Foundation (BPSSD Foundation), held a meeting with a visiting delegation to discuss potential opportunities for sending skilled Bangladeshi workers to Italy.
The meeting focused on creating international employment opportunities for Bangladeshi skilled professionals and strengthening cooperation between skills development institutions and overseas employers and stakeholders.
During the discussion, Mr. S.I. Mozumder highlighted an initiative involving the potential deployment of around 700 skilled Bangladeshi workers to Italy. The proposed initiative is expected to focus on preparing qualified candidates according to the skills and occupational requirements of the Italian labour market.
The meeting also discussed the importance of ensuring appropriate technical training, competency assessment, documentation and pre-departure preparation for workers seeking employment opportunities abroad.
As Chairman of Western Technical Training Institute and Vice President of BPSSD Foundation, Mr. Mozumder emphasized the importance of developing a strong connection between skills training institutions, international employers and overseas employment stakeholders.

The delegates and participants also exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation, workforce preparation and future collaboration between Bangladesh and Italy in the skills and employment sector.
The proposed initiative to facilitate opportunities for approximately 700 skilled workers in Italy could become part of broader efforts to expand international pathways for Bangladeshi skilled professionals and strengthen the country’s position in the global skills and labour market.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continued dialogue, skills development, international cooperation and creating structured pathways for qualified Bangladeshi workers to access overseas employment opportunities.
